• I want to become a volunteer. What do I have to do?

  • Can children volunteer?
    We have lots of opportunities for children! Children ages 12 and above can cook at our Fremont and Santa Clara location. Younger children can participate in Care Bag seva, where they pack care bags for distribution. Please contact us at signup@communityseva.org if you are interested in organizing a care bag seva.
  • I signed up, but don't know where to report to. What is the actual address of the kitchen?
    Once you sign up for a spot, we will email you all necessary details including address, time and other details. We do not put this information up on the website due to privacy reasons. Please note that it is VERY IMPORTANT that you confirm by replying to the email we send you so that we are sure you received it.
  • I am vegetarian, and do not like to cook meat/eggs. Can I still participate?
    Most definitely. If you are not comfortable in touching / cooking a particular menu item, we still have various items that you can help us with.
  • I would like to sponsor a meal and bring my family/friends to serve. Can I do so?
    We would love to have you celebrate your significant day with your family & friends. Please click on this link to sponsor a meal. We will reserve a day and time for you and your friends & family so you can participate and give back. Once you donate on our website, please email signup@communityseva.org and we will work with you to identify and block a date.
  • Can I organize a corporate team event and bring my colleagues in to cook?
    Yes, Community Seva welcomes corporate teams and have organized many corporate team events for Bay Area companies to give back to the community. Please email us at signup@communityseva.org. Let us know your team size, and also let us know your company name and whether the company will contribute monetarily towards sponsoring the meal or compensate for volunteer hours. Our volunteer manager will help organize your event.
